I am not a big fan of Polish cinema...but this classic is ...classic.....cult....a must see for everyone!!!

It has references to life in Poland and Polish behaviour esp during communist rule in our country. Basically the whole film is about it....which may come as a surprise for many. But it was the only ay to pass a message like that without direct words and pictures.

They translated this message very well on screen. It's a political satire for sure.
What also surprised me, technically it was done very well. Especially if you consider the budget of this movie (I guess it wasn't expensive). I liked the sets and the lightning.

Surprisingly back in the 60's, 70's and 80's we had some really big productions with low budgets. If you ever have the chance to see Faraon(The Pharaon) by Kawalerowicz or Ziema Obiecana ( The Promised Land) by Wajda. YOu will be surprised by how well weere these films made with really little money. Now we have more money and nothing worth seeing :(

The Truman Show did not steal the concept from Seksmisja, it has been used in many sci-fi plots.

I just watched this movie, and came only to these boards to see if someone said anything about the Truman Show.
Really the only scene where I felt a similarity was towards the end, with the escaping to the surface, but that strongly reminded me of the Truman show.
You can't deny that.

It's a funny film, but really has nothing much in common with Truman Show... there's no need to compare them. It's a tad closer to the far superior film, "Sleeper."

I watched Sexmission earlier today (thank god for Netflix). I found it really enjoyable, and didn't expect the twist at the end.
