I love this movie

The acting, dialogue and music are all horrible, but the plot is somehow very, very entertaining. And the bad acting, dialogue and music, is just an extra cheesy charm. They don't make movies like this anymore. I wish they did.

I loved it when I was younger, it used to play on HBO often and I used to rent it quite a lot too. I finally bought it on VHS some years ago, but where's the DVD release!

I don't know why it's bagged on so much, sure it's kinda soap-operaish with a cheese factor, but I never thought it was laughable. A reviewer here pointed out such stupid stuff...powers out and clocks are running. Uhh, wall clocks run on batteries. And Christy did investigating on her bike because she doesn't have her own car. Some of the music is melodramatic, but the last half hour of the film is awesome. Plus Rachel Kelly was hot, hot, hot.

You'll never see a dvd because Lorimar went belly up years ago, those negatives and masters are long lost. Some Lorimar stuff shifted to a bigger studio (forget which one) but I think only about 100 people know this movie exists lol.

reply

Wasn't Lorimar purchased and absorbed by Warner?

I wouldn't be so sure that the negatives are eternally lost. And if by some chance they are...there are likely old theatrical prints gathering dust in someone's attic, here and there. This has been the case with films such as Just Before Dawn and other forgotten classics of the 80's.

Greetings from 2016! Yes, it's soap opera-ish because several of the actors were on soap operas. BTW, I watched this today on YouTube, full uncut version. Of course, it might be taken down by the time you rad this.

Check eBay....I have gotten two copies on DVD....(the first one had no cover art, so I found another that did). Not the best quality, but my VHS was getting old and the sound was getting bad, so it's nice to have a copy on DVD.

I like the thought of someone buying this movie multiple times. I just got done watching it after not seeing it since being a kid in the 80s. Was better than I remembered.

twisted anger dot net has this on dvd-r...Thanks! Gary

This is a great 80's B-movie. It should be talked about more.

This one is a ton of fun! At times it almost feels like a tv movie with the leads narration and family troubles (I actually thought it was at first), but then we'd get nudity, sex, and violence, and the audience is reminded this is no tv movie. The director does a good job of keeping the audience in suspense from start to finish (it really never lets up), and the acting actually wasn't too bad at all (the bad guys were menacing and the few teens were realistic, so I'd say job well done).

Glad I'm not the only one that loves this movie. My mom and I would watch this over and over again back in the 80's. Sure, it's a bit cheesy, but lots of movies are in one way or another.

The acting was ok, if you want horrible see "Havoc" or a piece of crap known as "Chicken Park". This movie was enjoyable.

I liked this movie, yeah it had a certain 80's low budget cheesiness about it but the story was pretty good. I remember seeing this on HBO back in the 80's, I never caught the name or knew any of the actors, had given up on seeing it again. One night i was at 1/2 price books and found it for about $4.
