The bullet removal scene

I thought both Selleck and Rhodes did a great job of making that scene work, especially Rhodes. You feel her intense pain and his agony at causing it. I also liked how the ordinarily soft-spoken/clean-mouthed Selleck blew up at the CSI people, the captain and the nosy reporter.

I love this movie & that scene is great. I totally buy into it & I love that they still snipe at each other a bit during it.

"You want me to run down to the car and get 'em?"

Also noteworthy that Jerry Goldsmith did not score it. He correctly judged that it worked better without music.

Actually, he DID score it. The cue, titled "The Bullet", went unused.

Ramsey: "It'll screw up!" (In a lower tone), "It'll blow her arm off".
That line sends chills. A great scene.

It was a very good scene, very well-acted. The tension ratchets up beautifully, from Selleck losing it and dropping the film's only F-bomb, to Rhodes' convincing display of pain, to the emotional release at the end after he chucks the bullet away just before it explodes. A well-done, very solid scene in a somewhat campy but very entertaining movie.
