Most annoying kid ever...

Seriously! Dude wouldn't stop talking. I actually started laughing out loud. "it was so great when you went into the house are you his new partner you didn't go into his house daddy I saw you on tv..."

Damn, son. Shut up.

It was funny cuz that's sort of how Michael Crichton wrote kids, asking a bunch of annoying quesitons nonstop. But usually it's for comedic effect. In this, Tom Selleck didn't even bat an eye at how freaking annoying the kid was.

I dare you to see the final 20 minutes of the movie Smokin' Aces and compare the kid in that movie and then compare him to Tom Selleck's son in Runaway.

Is there any difference?

I'm open! There's just nothing in there!

reply

Yep. I was starting to think maybe the kid was mildly retarded.

reply

Still not as annoying as the kid from "Hard to Kill."

I remember watching "Runaway" a lot when my sister and I were growing up. I hadn't seen it since then and pretty much forgotten most of this movie, but just found it playing on T.V.. Turned it on and it was the scene you're talking about.

Holy hell this kid is bad!... The only reason I even came to this imdb page is because of wanting to see if anyone else wrote about this. Hah this kid is annoying and a bad actor. In the scene you're talking about the kid even looks dead straight at the camera haha. And the faces he makes when he talks haha!

Another annoying/weenie kid in a movie is in "Parenthood" - Steve Martin's Son "My retainer!!! Ohhh My Godd! My retainer!!!"

I need to see this kid in "Hard To Kill" now haha.

Seems he decided to follow the 'troubled former child actor' career path.

Obviously, you don't like to be around kids very much. Most people do not find his talking annoying. That is how most kids are. I thought he did a great job with the role and loved the part where he was kind of correcting his dad about cursing. And what their characters say and do after that is so funny and sweet.

reply

I've seen much worse, though he was a annoying.

Hello lm362,
thank you very much! I completely agree with you - I didn't find him annoying when I saw "Runaway" on TV here, a long time ago. I even wished they had given him more time on screen :-)
Just read he has been charged with bank robbery! Oh my God, what made him go that far downhill? I must admit I don't know anything about the circumstances of his life after "Flight of the Navigator" (movie in which I found him just adorable and brilliant!). Seems to have had lots of trouble, poor guy. I really wish he had never become involved in such things...
Anyone who has up-to-date info about the trial and eventual sentence please post the news here.
Kind regards
sprendlinger
EDITED Oct. 27th - now I found a note on the web (a newspaper article from early September); there it's stated that he got two years "less one day" (for whatever reason they didn't sentence him to full two years I don't know). And as sad as the whole thing is - after all I think it could have resulted in a much higher term, considering his previous record... Had he committed this on the other side of the frontier, I think the Americans would have sent him behind bars for MUCH longer a time!
To sum up: I really hope Joey Cramer won't add any further entries on his record but instead, after his release, I wish him from all my heart that he manages to start a new life. It's high time, isn't it?
And I suggest that he should immediately dump all false "friends" who have dragged him into whatever sh*t and trouble, over the years...Find some REAL friends, dear Navigator! From 2018 on, you can steer the ship of your life to much less troubled waters, if I may say so.

"Damn son, shutup." LOL. Yeah he was definitely a chatter box. But i'm sure they did that for comedic effect. Btw, that's the same kid that was in "Flight of the Navigator".
