I remember seeing the giant videobox for this thing in the early 90's at my local video store. Looked really bloody but I never got around to seeing it.

All these years later, I heard more and more about the movie and realized what it was. And that Synapse was going to release it.

The movie is actually enjoyable. I was really surprised by how carefree, fresh, and old-school it was. No annoying characters, very gory attacks, and a general B-movie atmosphere. Haven't seen anything quite like it.

Anyone else's opinions?

I think it's one of those "So bad it's good" flicks, pretty enjoyable overall, but only if you are into gory stuff.

While the acting and editing weren't good, the execution of the story and its fx are superb. They spent the bulk of their budget on the alien and the gore. It makes me wonder what ever happened to the director and sfx people who worked in this movie.
