The Deadly Spawn is a very low budget gore flick from the early 80's, only of interest to those nostalgic for that era imo.Anyone else watching it nowadays would probably think it is amateurish crap and they'd probably be right, but fans of the movie love it!

there are much more better movies from 80's....actors are just unbearably awful in this stupid movie and the fact that we must fear the ridiculous rubber monster is simply a crime and thats all

Like another poster has said, its an 80's movie. And yes there are a lot better movies from that time, but this one was very low budget. Having that in mind I think its a good 80's horror movie with some flaws.

An 80s Horror movie, what were you expecting from it? Let alone a HORROR movie. It's a shame how people can't enjoy a movie, or dismiss the movie as a whole because if people can't act well (IMO this adds to the pleasure of watching it in this genre) Yeah I guess we are supposed to be scared of those rubber bore worms. If this were made today, it would've been CG. Turn on the Syfy channel, and watch one of those movies. Bad acting, rough editing, computer generated violence, etc. Why is it that a lot of the new generation can't enjoy a cheap flick? If a movie doesn't gross them out, scare them, have anything related to who they are or what they posses, or they don't understand the point of the movie, then we get people like the original poster.

OK, Alien came out in '79, a great scary monster movie. Then '82 gave us Blade Runner followed by The Deadly Spawn in '83. And Aliens in 1986. Since then I've watched Alien once more and the same for Blade Runner and Aliens. But The Deadly Spawn is so much fun! I've introduced so many people to this delight, I've seen it 8 times or more. I love the home-made feel of it and the rainy day atmosphere. It's just a treasure, a one-of-a-kind film. Sorry you didn't like it. When Grandma turns on her blender and misses that little squeal, I'll just smile real big and think of you :)

I just saw this for the first time today and I thought it was amazing for the budget they had. It's no 'Alien' but for 80's schlock (my favorite genre) it doesn't fail at anything it set out to do. I'm not saying I didn't chuckle at it, but it was a lot of fun. Yeah, the acting is corny, yeah the monsters look cheesier the more you see them and yeah the characters do stupid things. It's the 80's, none of those shortcomings are exclusive to the deadly spawn. At least this one manages to tell a coherent (albeit very simple) story.

Most movies suck, dude. The difference between crappy horror and crappy comedy is crappy horror is actually funny. Learn to enjoy B movies, it opens up a whole new world of entertainment.
