I have to choose this over Sid and Nancy(1986)

i tried watching sid and nancy a long time ago and didn't like the main characters so i wrote it off. i should watch it some time in the future.

maybe suburbia 1983 or another state of mind.

I recently got around to watching Pistol, and after I finished the last episode I wanted to re-watch Sid and Nancy. I hadn't seen it in many years, but I always loved it. Watching it the other day, I couldn't wait for it to be over. The best part was recognizing Repo Man cast members. In all these years, I don't think I realized until now that the poodle-haired "I want a job, I want a good job, one that satisfies my artistic needs" guy was the same actor that played Archie. Anyway, that made me want to re-watch Repo Man, for like the 500th time, so I did... and I think I might re-watch it again this weekend.

Haven't seen Sid and Nancy in awhile either, although counterculture, it is a love story.

Repo man is unique in that it is a counterculture film that doesn't focus on a male/female relationship, music, sex or drugs.

I can't really think of another film quite like it.

You're right. Having punked in the 80's, in Los Angeles, this flick does show the real punk spirit I knew. "Sid & Nancy" was too heroin-laced and English to really reflect American punk.
