One star on time warner

Red Dawn was on TV last weekend and the time-warner review gave it one star. The test pattern and static get 2 stars on their reviews. This is a good movie, well acted, and certainly has its moments. Is it Casablanca or Patton, no. However, the story of resilence, betrayal, and the bond between brother is well done. In the middle, the movie kind of goes off the rails with their successes, but the beginning and the end are good. It has been 30 years, it is time to put away cold war politics and appreciate a movie for what it is. Also, the movie is a historical time capsule with a story of the cold war. Also, it is important to note that politically it does not blame the Russians for the war. As the major said, pretty soon the biggest two kids on the block are going to fight.

Yeah, I think it would be hard for a movie to get one star. Even if it wasn't the kind of movie I like, the production quality is good and the story doesn't have any major plot holes or unbelievable changes as the story progresses. Personally, I would give it four out of five stars, but if someone asked me to rate it for someone who doesn't care for war movies, I'd rate it three out of five stars.

You luv war?
??????????????????
You may now remove you're head from your posterior.

I hate war as only a soldier who lived it can, only as one who has seen it's brutality, it's futility, it's stupidity.

Nope, I don't love war at all. But making a fictional movie about high school kids doing guerrilla warfare is pretty damn cool. If you show war stuff in a movie then it can be quite fun but only if it's done with the right tone and made in the right way. People who hate this movie probably just don't know that it's not meant to glorify war (most of the kids die). People who let their politics get in the way of a good story are missing out, so I'd assume they're the ones giving it a low score.

That's because RED Turner was rooting for the Commies the whole way through the film.

One star is pretty generous for this steaming pile of crap. I can't believe anyone is defending this. And before you internet tough guys start squawking "B-but you must be a pussy liberal who doesn't like war movies!" I am the opposite of a liberal and I like all kinds of violent action movies. In this movie the story was idiotic, the acting was amateurish and the action scenes were laughable and boring. If any of the action scenes had been any good I could even have forgiven the first two flaws and called this movie a guilty pleasure, but there was no pleasure in watching this.
