I have never met another person who has actually seen this movie which is unfortunate because it still ranks as one of my favs. This is a great movie and I think Bill Murray is a great actor in it.
sharei only discovered this film a few years back...and fro it to be inducted into my fav top 5 all time films is an achievement,such a amazing film that nobodys is aware of.
shareActually saw this film in theaters in 1984. Bill had the cover of "Moviegoer" magazine because Ghostbusters (shot second, but released first in '84) had already hit big and The Razor's Edge was imminent for release next. It bombed and Bill was gutted personally. Didn't hurt his career of course. My brother and I sat and watched this remarkable film in a nearly empty theater... and it was brilliant. We loved it. I was around 15 and he was 20, but we were beyond our years as thinkers. We both "got it" because our outlook on life and sense of humor had always mirrored Murray's detachment and stoicism. The way Murray moves through space and relates to the world around him, especially in his portrayal of this character, is both heartbreaking and uplifting. My brother is gone now, but I will never forget the fondness we both shared for this film... and what it still means to me personally. Simply magnificent.

Made me a fan of Theresa Russell, Catherine Hicks, Brian Doyle-Murray and James Keach. Loved Denholm Elliot's role. Even if you are in the crowd that isn't thrilled by Murray, how can you not love the story and all the other great characters???
