who is narrarating the book im so confused the whole time i thought it was larry then all of the suuddnen in like chapter 4 larry appiers

It's been a while since I've read the book but I believe W. Somerset Maughm is himself the narrator!

It's been several years since I read the book, too, but I seem to remember the narrator as Uncle Elliot.

Maybe I'm wrong, though...

No, the narrator of the book is Maugham himself - or rather, he is a character in the book, narrating what he has heard about Larry. It might seem confusing because this character is not in the film.
