This is just the most gorgeous film! Easy to see Sean Penn's ability as early as 1984......and Elizabeth McGovern is magic casting....the locations are fantastic, and it is just one of my favourites! Buy the DVD!

I agree. I dont know why Elizabeth didnt become more successful. I think it was her own choice though, as she married an English man and she lives over here now.

I have this on VHS tape, I take it off the shelf every year or two and watch it again. Such an excellent film, great cast, superb acting, and good story. Sean Penn & Nicholas Cage were so good together here.
