Any moviechat.org fans of Purple Rain here?

I've got to say, I love the film and watch it time to time, just for the mere pleasure of it. There are so many things I like about it: the crowd scenes with their 80s hairstyles and makeup and dances, the great music performed live (I believe), Prince's and Appolonia's charming personalities, the Lake Minnetonka scene, Morris Day and Jermone's comedy duo....and of course, Prince's musical brilliance. Heck, I even love those two old ladies grooving to 'Sex Shooter'. LOL Apart from Prince, I really enjoy watching the 'Modernaire' performace.

Curiously apparently a lot of the 'extras' in the film were part of Prince's entourage, or people he knew. For example, the waitress that serves Apolonia and Morris a bottle of champagne, was an ex girlfriend of Prince in High School. Some of his high school friends were also part of The Venue's audience. Another example, the club bouncer was actually Prince's bodyguard. Even the taxi driver that takes Appolonia to the club was part of Prince's entourage.

Im 2 years late but I love purple rain the movie and the soundtrack also! i remember the first time i watched purple rain as a kid was on vhs with my upstairs neighbor she was a teen and me and her little sister were friends so we watched it together and when the love scene with the kid came on my neighbor fast forwarded of course but thats my first memory of this classic! im glad i grew up in the 80s! my brother has never seen it and we are gonna watch it friday together!was watching the extras on the 2 disc dvd i bought!classic!R.I.P. PRINCE!one of the many that left us too soon
