First time seeing it in theaters

After Prince passed away and alot of theaters were showing this movie. At first it was all around Detroit area then it made it's way out around here. I got out of guitar practice early, so we could make the show. It was funny my teacher started playing Purple Rain from memory. Anyway me, my sister, and brother in law made it to the movie on time. Got our drinks, and snacks. I didn't know what was going to happen or how big the turnout was going to be. I knew this movie all uncut, my sister only seen it on tv. It was a great experience. The room was packed, everyone laughed and clapped, some took photos during Baby I'm a star. The best part that had me LMAO was the bedroom scene. I knew it was coming up, my sister didn't know about it. My sister goes "Oh my god! I didn't know I took my sister porno." I just started laughing and so did she. The woman in front of us turned around like she wanted to smack us. It was a great experience people were crying during Purple Rain, holding their lighters, and phones. It was a once in a lifetime experience. It was nice knowing that one movie brought so many people together for a moment in time. I wonder how many people were able to experience the movie?

Glad your family/friends had a great time. Never got a change to see this on the big screen in 1984 but my wife and I attended a screening after he died. It was like seeing it for the first time all over again.

Edit: The ladies also giggled and tickled during the love scene at our theater too.
