Alarmstufe 1 DVD

The German DVD release "Alarmstufe 1" (translated "Alarm Level 1"), apparently the only official(?) release so far on DVD, does not include an English audio track nor does it include any subtitles. It does however include trailers for Dune and The Emerald Forest in stereo English. The case does not identify region coding or video standard, the title is printed at the bottom of the spine reading upwards, and the outer perimeter of the label side of the disc has a typo, saying "Unautorized" instead of "Unauthorized". The cover art does not match the image displayed on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. If I can, I'll upload a consumer-provided image to them.

I will be doing more analysis and comparison against Prime Risk as aired on HBO in the 1980s, especially the Dolby Digital 5.1 claim.

I've synced up the video footage of the German release with the audio from a recording off HBO. The film is cut differently, though it is possible it's only at the reel changes which is common enough (there's a cut of Ice Pirates that lost, "Why didn't you just say, `A ship'?"). The 5.1 audio is more of a redundant monaural encoding. Dialog is not isolated to the center channel so there's no benefit for the digital encoding other than audio sync.

Thank you for your effort.
