Where?

Does anyone know where in the UK this show was filmed? I love the houses. I was recently in Bath, UK and saw nothing like the houses in this episode. BTW I like watching this show because everyone in the show looks like the faculty at my old catholic school. Miss Marple looks and talks like my old math teacher. lol

I don't know about this particular episode but the vast majority of non-London locations in film and TV in the UK are in an arc to the West of London. If you drew a line between, say, Welwyn Garden City to the North of London and Heyward's Heath to the South, then drew a curve from each out West through Oxford and Basingstoke, you would have easily encompassed most of the common locations.

This is simply because most of the studios have traditionally been in an arc on the Western side of London - currently from Elstree in the North to Shepperton in the South West - and travelling time from the studio base is expensive and wasteful. The Miss Marple series, for Example was based at Ealing Film Studios in West London, which the BBC then owned.

Bath incidentally looks very different to most UK cities because of its unified design and use of local stone in most of its construction.
The locations in Miss Marple on the other hand are very typical of Home Counties villages and country houses.
