So Big...so Edna-

Anyone else think Benton was inspired by "So Big" when he wrote this script? A genteel woman forced to take over her husband's farm upon his untimely death- who meets stiff resistance in the business world specifically BECAUSE she is a woman? Perhaps that's why Fields' character is named Edna- as in Edna Ferber who wrote the novel.
