Tee tot and Ermine

So I watched this movie when I was a little girl and loved it. And even now, I still watch it whenever it comes on. So of course, when I was little, I didn't even know the name of the singer or the lady who played his wife. And the only reason I know their names now is because I read the cast list on IMDB. And reading the cast, I saw her name and still couldn't figure out who Ermine was. And reading the message boards, I found out that they were married. So my question is....were we supposed to know this just by watching the movie? I just realized in the last 2 years that they were even a couple. And I'm still confused what they had to do with the plot of the movie. Can someone enlighten me please?? Thanks!

I'm not positive, but pretty sure Ermine's role was cut from the movie. You see her briefly at the dance watching Tee Tot play, but that's it. I had no idea they were married; creeeeepy!

As for the plot of the movie, they were just an add on, or more like the adulterous husband and the Lone Star Syrup Boys were just surplus for the plot of life in a small town and the movie decided to not focus entirely on Edna Spalding and the struggle to keep her farm.

I think you're right. Their parts were cut from the movie. If you scroll through the pictures for this movie, there is a picture of just those two. I think I would have liked to see what the story was with those two.
