one big advertisement for Cocacola

the product placement of cocacola starts to get annoying after awhile

I thought the same thing. They mentioned Coke about 10 times lol.

"Trust Me Carrie, You Can Trust Me!"

It's funny you say that, product places don't really bug me. In a certain way, ties in to our real lives.

I noticed this also, thought it was really strange. At one stage, the girl asks the hero, "Do you want a Coke?" Even during the crisis in the operations lab, one of the scientists is holding a Coke as they watch the monitors.

I think the Coke served as an "anchor," something that poor David could relate to -- something that was "still the same" (even though the cocaine had been removed from it, LOL) from 1943 in a 1984 world that was otherwise full of newness.

That said, I have to agree with you because it was w-a-a-y overdone. Once or twice would have sufficed, but no they were mentioning Coke every other minute, LOL.

I know! I thought Michael Bay started that trend but I guess it's been going on for years.

You should watch Strictly Ballroom, that one film strongly advertised coca cola in a romantic positive way. And they had to pay Coca Cola to do that, Coke didn't want to have anything to do with them.
