Nancy Allen/Allison not convincing

First off, Michael Pare/David is HOT!!!

But watching him and Nancy Allen/Allison they just seemed mismatched or something... Like a guy that good looking should be with a prettier girl. Then her acting wasn't convincing. Sure the tears were there, but I wasn't FEELING it.

Bottom line is that I wish a different actress had been cast in the role.

Nancy Allen is the only reason to watch this flick.

It is a terrible part, her character is unbelievable and does things for seemingly random reasons, but she is still Nancy Allen - and looking fantastic.

She is fun to watch. I especially liked her screaming in the wild Truckster ride. The way she keeps throwing her hands up to her head makes me laugh every time.

Mr. Escalator, wasn't there a sequel to this that was better than original or am I thinking of "Death of a Victrola Pincher"?

The "sequel" had some interesting elements. The old Alternate Universe trick.

And the title was? "Flinge" is not on Friday cuz of baseball not being on either.

Not that piece of refuse! Wasn't there something similar that was better done with Kirk Douglas or was it Ponsby Britt and Ethel the Frog?

That's the ticket! Far better than the rest.

I think Nancy Allen's character was underwritten, but she did a terrific job in spite of the script's limitations. And she had excellent chemistry with Michael Paré. Both of them should have been bigger stars.

Maybe, but she was hittable, and kind of easy. I dug her in 1984. However, I just saw it again and laughed my ass off!

reply

I couldn't agree more.

She just didn't make you FEEL like she was experiencing all this MIND BLOWING stuff. It didn't register on her face. Like she was just on an exciting road trip or something.

Both her and Pare' were good eye candy, but not much going on in the acting department.

And I understand why he didn't go on to have a big film career after seeing his lackluster perfomance in what should have been a very good movie.

Swede_Johanson, I completely agree.

A guy kidnaps her, and then says he time travelled from the past... It's not like that happens every day... I'm left scratching my head trying to figure out what these people were expecting to see from Nancy Allen/Allison...

But, I guess people can't just sit down with a bag of popcorn, and watch a movie for two hours, without picking it apart.
