Daria and Jennifer's scenes in the Italian cut are hilarious.

I watched the Italian cut last night and never realized just how comical the scenes between Jennifer Connelly and Daria Nicolodi are when they're at Frau Bruckner's house. It's like some comedy sketch: Jennifer vs. Frau Bruckner. First Frau Bruckner is trying to get Jennifer to take the pills for her fever but she is resistant and of course Frau Bruckner says "You will take the pills!" The argument goes on a little longer in the Italian cut, with Jennifer putting up more resistance and asking more questions about them while Frau Bruckner just gets more pissed. Finally, Jennifer takes the pills and goes to the restroom, snapping at Frau Bruckner about wanting to shut the door before physically shoving her out of the way in her own house. Then she takes one and thinks she's been poisoned, leading to her trying to puke it up while Frau Bruckner goes nuts outside the door trying to get inside. "How dare you behave like this!" she says. With the pill out of her system, she opens the door to a livid Frau Bruckner and brushes her off to go use the telephone. Frau Bruckner tries to take the phone from her, asking who she's trying to call and Jennifer says she wants to tell her father's attorney that everything is okay. Frau Bruckner says she can call tomorrow but Jennifer becomes resistant and fights for the phone, eventually knocking Frau Bruckner right on her ass. Having had enough, she finally whacks the girl from behind while her back is turned and says "No! I said no calls! This is my house!" or something to that effect in Italian. Then the cop pulls up outside and Jennifer starts screaming for help, causing Frau Bruckner to muffle her screams and whack her over the head again before locking her in the room.

Watching them go back and forth trying to thwart one another was just hilarious to me and I got the giggles seeing how fed up Frau Bruckner was getting with this girl in her own house. By the time she hit her over the head and said "I said no calls!" I couldn't help but laugh at it all.
