soundtrack

I was wondering if anyone knew if a soundtrack was ever available. Can anyone name all the bands that were on the movie. I know one was the Buzzcocks. Thanks

jobash, I have never found a soundtrack, but I can tell you that one of the songs featured in the movie is 'Rain' from DREAM6. This is the band that included JOHNETTE NAPOLITANO, before her Concrete Blonde days. I think you can find the cd on e-bay (or at CD BABY), and this is a link to a sample of the song:

Hey Guys!

Since IMDB doesn't have a soundtrack listing for this movie, I wrote down all the song titles and here they are (Most of them are really hard to find, though) :

R.E.M. - Radio Free Europe
The Buzzcocks - Why Can't I Touch It
The Buzzcocks - I Don't Mind
The Buzzcocks - Everybody's Happy Nowadays
The Buzzcocks - Harmony In My Head
The Fleshtones - Right Side Of Good Things
The Fleshtones - Roman Gods
Chelsea - War Across The Nation
Dream 6 - Rain
The New Marines - No Peace Through Chemistry
The Untouchables - The General
Gerald Michenaud - Kill The White Man
Gerald Michenaud - They Don't Like My Clothes
The Convertibles - She's Just A Girl
Gazmo - Goin' Mental
Matthew Causey - The Party Animal

Those are all the songs listed in the end credits of the movie :)

Oh wow thanks guys!! I love the music in this movie.
I copied it years ago when I rented it at a video store but the tapes going downhill. I wish they would bring it out on DVD.
I always loved that Rain song and about 94" I bought a Concrete Blonde album and it was on there. She's got such an awsome voice. Is there any Dream6 available??

The song "Rain" was released on the Concrete Blonde album Mexican Moon. It sounds just as good as it did in Party Animal.

The soundtrack for this movie has been my holy grail. There was a soundtrack album released on vinyl, but it has been long out of print. I have never been able to find a copy.

I first saw this film around 1987 when someone in my army barracks had a copy.

I was blown away that cool bands like the Buzzcocks and Chelsea were on the soundtrack - this was way back before Nirvana and the popularity of Punk, so bands like the Buzzcocks were not well known or liked - at least in the USA. The movie itself had me laughing my ass off.

All the Buzzcocks songs are available on "Singles Going Steady" - a must-have CD/LP for Buzzcocks fans.

The two bands I really liked that I could never find were Dream 6 and The Convertibles.

I was not aware of the Dream 6/Concrete Blonde connection. Thanks for the info, and posting the entire soundtrack. I remember squinting at the screen credits to try to read the song and band names back in the day - I was never sure if it was Dream 6 or Dream 8.

Are you sure there was an official soundtrack released? Everything I heard was that there was never a soundtrack that was released that was tied into the movie. That would be cool if someone actually has this; maybe they could make copies on CD for the rest of us!

RE: moviefan 38

Thanks for the list to the soundtrack. I bought the VHS in the 80’s and the guy that owned must have gotten drunk and ruined the final credits so I could never see the credits. I have been searching for a listing of the songs on that movie for years and this is the first time someone has listed them. I have managed to find 3 songs from the soundtrack.

Thanks.

Guys, everyone that loved this movie, thank you thank you thank you thank you!
I have been looking for Rain by Dream 6 for 22 years. As one of you says the vinyl soundtrack was deleted years ago but it never had dream 6 on there anyway (i dont think it did anyway). Howver I now have the concrete blonde version and you have my gratitude.

There is also a Dream 6 CD out that is not too hard to find. It has the original version of Rain as it sounded on the movie. Not as polished as the Concrete Blonde version though. Try places like cdbaby.

Still looking for Convertibles Just a Girl. It may be possible that the song is played start to finish in the movie. I have cleaned this up and turned it into an MP3 but at only 1:30 it seems like there must have been more.

Alright, where is "Fire In The Rain" played at in the movie? I'm still missing three songs for my soundtrack, which are both of the Gerald Michenaud tunes "Kill The White Man" and "They Don't Like My Clothes", and Gazmo's "Goin' Mental". There is a mystery song in the film though, which I can not make out. It plays during the town chase as they race after Pondo in the mutant hunchback outfit. Sounds like a female singer, but the words are difficult to make out.

Looking for those and the Gazmo tune myself. Just need those three songs to complete my soundtrack.
