How did Jane not recognize Travis' voice?

You never forget a voice, especially the voice of a man you once loved.

Low sound quality on mic

She also said that every man's voice sounded like his.

For her, all men sounded like him, but she knew it was Travis because he told her everything that happened.

There are some shots from her side of the booth where you hear him through the phone, and it's believable that she wouldn't recognize Travis' voice since the quality isn't the greatest. Plus, never in a million years would she realize a man who went missing could actually find her in Houston. And as this user said:

She also said that every man's voice sounded like his.

That's actually quite a poetic line from Jane. When you think about it, a sex club (and this one was rather unique in that it had 'fantasy environments' like a kitchen) was a place for lonely people to find some emotional connection. It wasn't about sexual gratification, but communication with someone who would listen.

When Jane says "every man's voice sounds the same here", she recognizes the wounded, lost, yearning voices of all the men who pass through, as she herself has gone through her own tragedies.
