Why is Oxford Blues not on DVD yet?

This is a classic 80's/Brat Pack-ish film. Why???

i know its mental isn't it?
I want to buy this. churlish memories but I remember this film so well, must have viewed it multiple times.

reply

but it's rubbish! I know, I was in it!

reply

No way markoftv! I'm dying to see this movie again. I just tried to Netflix it, but no such luck. Can't even reserve it for a time when they might have it on DVD. What a shame. Rob Lowe rowing in JEANS!

reply

Good 80's storyline so I'm not sure about the rubbish thing. I would suggest Lowe's character put the Brits in their proper place. We don't believe there's anything beyond our reach if you know what I mean.

For those in the U.S., this is available from Warner Bros. as part of their Warner Archives Collection. Although it states is is the Standard Edition, it is actually presented in Widescreen. It also includes the theatrical trailer. Here is the link

reply

YEAH! Y NOT!.....I LOVE ROB LOWE.....I LOVE THIS MOVIE....PLEASE PRODUCE A DVD

reply

Agreed! I'd pay $30 for a R1 dvd, if the production company would just produce it!

reply

I enjoyed the movie when I saw it. It seems to be out in the UK.

reply

This is is remake of 'A Yank At Oxford(1938)'

reply

I'd LOVE to have this movie on DVD. I loved this movie when I was a kid. I thought it was so romantic..

reply

If anyone is actually reading this, I just came across it on the BBC channel. It's in the middle now (and I literally shrieked when I saw it in the listings!) but it's going to replay at 11pm to 1am and again at 2am to 4am. I'll probably stay up late to watch both! =)

reply

I'm watching it right now - looks like they must have cleaned up the print.

Lord, the 1980s in all its cheesy goodness/badness.

reply

Ahh, I can't wait until 11pm! I didn't want to watch from the middle because it's been so long since I've seen it. I'd rather get comfy in bed and watch from the beginning and really enjoy the whole thing. Goodness, Rob Lowe in his prime.. the minutes seem to be crawling by lol.

Maybe it isn't worth the trouble, considering how dumb it is.

reply

Just bought it on ioffer.com for a very reasonable price. Region-free.

Not sure if anyone has closed this thread yet. It looks to have been released on DVD in the UK in 2006. It was released in the US in 2009. You can find it easily on eBay for around $15 US. Hope that helps.
