Sid Ceasar - Unforgettable restaurant scene - SPOILER a bit

Over the Brooklyn Bridge

Food and restaurants in this Eliot Gould and Sid Ceasar film.

Gould owns a luncheonette, wants to open a restaurant in the city. Only source of funding is the family patriarch, Uncle Sid. Good man, old school. One real request - that Gould dump his non-Jewish g/f. Film moves on from there - and t here is one incredible scene as the whole extended family celebrates the deal in a restaurant.

It is unforgettable - if you have ever seen a family fight escalate where little by little among civilized people and where long standing traditions are toppled and truths never before spoken are spoken - this will hit you dead center.

Sid Ceaser is phenomenal in a purely dramatic role. You'll gasp as he and Gould confront each other in front of the entire family. I've never seen Gould better.

Sorry to ramble - but that 10 minute scene makes the entire film.

that was a great scene but ceasar was the best in it. his head looked like it was ready to explode with anger. i have rarely seen that in movies. gould was uneven in this movie especially in the last scene.

Gould was out of his depth in the scene but still was great due to Sids performance
