I've seen the movie around 5 times over the years, keep coming back to it because there's a great charm to it, but every time the ending leaves me with a bitter feeling.
James Woods disappearing behind the garbage truck like David Copperfield? What the hell was that? Beam me up, Scotty?
I get the theories behind that and stuff, but in my opinion leaving that overly dramatic suicide out of the movie would be a much better way to end it.
But then again, I'm not Sergio Leone, so what do I know. Maybe I don't get something. Or maybe I should watch the movie 15 more times, get Stockholm Syndrome from it, and then I will learn that it's actually pretty smart. Who knows?
