Does nobody watch or pay attention to the endings of these movies?

Everybody just acts like it fact that Nancy took away Freddy's power by turning her back on him and taking away her fear when literally 20 seconds later Freddy traps Nancy in a car and makes it drive away while killing Nancy's Mother.

In the 2nd movie everybody acts like Jesse survived despite Freddy clearly taking the bus out to the desert to kill him.

In the 3rd movie clear as day the light comes on in the Paper Mache house telling us Freddy isnt dead

The 4th movie comes along and everybody is trying to figure out how Freddy came back thinking it must be Kristen's fear bringing him back or some convulted nonsense they formed from Freddy vs Jason when clearly Freddy was still alive at the end of Dream Warriors

The end of 4 and 5 also both show Freddy is still very much alive.

Freddy's Dead is the ONLY movie that doesn't hint to us or just flat out show us (even though we will ignore it) that Freddy is still alive. Do you know why? BECAUSE THE POINT OF FREDDY'S DEAD WAS TO KILL FREDDY.

Freddy didnt die 6 times in the series. HE DIED ONE TIME and that was in Freddy's Dead since then there has only been a Meta piece of nonsense 10th Anniversary Reunion, a Freddy vs Jason Special Attraction that implemented this nonsense "Freddy needs fear" plotline that Freddy spent the entire 80's laughing hysterically and having fun with his victims who though they could beat Freddy this way and was only used because they were desperate for a script after a decade of duds and finally a reboot nobody likes

Freddy was alive throughout the entire original series and whats on the screen proves that

Continuity in the Elm Street saga were pretty awful, especially with this sort of thing.

In the first one, Nancy finds a way to definitively beat Freddy, then all of 30 seconds later he comes back to life and kills her. But then, in the third movie Nancy is alive and well. No explanation of why she is still alive.

My take was that the ending scenes were there to demonstrate that Freddy had been defeated, but not completely eradicated. Just a way of setting up sequels, suggesting that Freddy would find a way back somehow.

I don't people were confused - not that I knew of while watching these as a kid. None of my friends who watched missed these scenes. So don't know who exactly you're talking to, but it was definitely obvious that Freddy survived.

well , that is the real conundrum with many films: kill the monster - how do you make sequel?
some films use different monster - cant do that with Freddy he is one person
