Freddy's passion for interior design

The look of the Thompson house really evolves throughout the series. By the time of Freddy's Dead, there's freaking wainscotting.

By the time of Freddy v. Jason, it had a bright yellow front door.

Nice and springy.

I recently learned from one of Linkara's Nightmare comics reviews that the house Nancy and her parents lived in was Freddy's. Though I never remember that really being said in any of the movies. Seems weird Nancy's parents would buy the house Freddy had owned.

Seems a little strange but kind of cool. Also it would give more importance to why we always see people dreaming about the house that Nancy lived in. Something other than the fact that it was just that it was nancys house. The whole thing with the ghostly kids playing and the jump rope thing is more creepy if that was actually the house fred Krueger lived in while he was killing kids.

That’s nothing compare to how Michael Myers kept his home. His two story clapboard house basically turned into an old Victorian mansion at one point! Later it got smaller and more modern looking. Now you can’t beat that! :)

In any case, besides not wanting to keep the exact same look for every movie (new people move in after all), constantly changing the interior of “Freddy’s home” does wonders for the series. It adds to the surrealistic look/vibe of these movies.
