How did Hector's revolver suddenly become a .45 automatic?

Recall that earlier, in the radio station, Regina made some disparaging comments about Hector's gun, which was a revolver (she was looking at the bullets in the cylinder, said the gun might be all right for date night in the barrio). Yet a few scenes later, when Hector was in his mother's home and the young zombie was at the door, Hector pulled out a .45 automatic and racked the slide. Clearly not that revolver we saw earlier. I mean, there was no indication earlier that he had a different gun...

There was talk of going to an armoury earlier on in the film. I've always assumed that's where the automatic came from.

Hector goes to the Armory and leaves the girls with the Mac-10s (When Sam's jams she comments "daddy would have gotten us Uzis"), he would therefore have armed himself better than his "date night in the bario" pistol as well.

Thanks. I don't remember the part about the armory. I'll have to watch it again.

reply

You don't see Hector visit the armory, it's just implied.

reply

I just assumed that he took the gun from some gunestore or hardware store.

I mean its not like Europe where he would have had to drive a hundred miles to find a gunstore, or to search for a copcar (with cops being turned to dust) and take the cop gun

I haven't seen this since it first came out, but I'm guessing that the trip to the armory suggested by Regina was never filmed for budget reasons or was cut out.
