This movie kind of sucks

I was expecting something more like Night of the Creeps. Barely any action, barely any zombies, barely any comedy...its so boring I had to shut it off towards the end to go to sleep and I really don't even want to finish it.

Might I add, these intelligent zombies are probably the worst zombies that I've ever seen...in my opinion.

I understand that, but that doesn't mean that I have to like it. The make up was pretty lame to.

Guess you had to be there...

Funny, I tried rewatching Night of the Creeps the other day, after selling it hard to my wife. I hadn't seen it since the 80s on video, and it pretty much sucked. Didn't finish it, we got 20 minutes through and gave up. First time through Night of the Comet, and I am finding is cheesy but amusing. The zombies are pretty bad, but it's still fun.

Blasphemy!

Seriously, though, the movie is not meant to be a true zombie movie. It's an end-of-mankind film, and as such, you can expect lots of slowness and stillness. It's boring if such a concept doesn't interest you.

The war is not meant to be won... it is meant to be continuous.

So, this movie sucks because it's not like Night of the Creeps? Where's the logic in that?

reply

Well I certainly hope you see a REAL zombie real soon. In my opinion.

While I won't say it "sucks," I will say I was underwhelmed by it. This movie tried to do a lot of things at once -- comedy, horror, science fiction, romance -- and I didn't think it did any of them particularly well. As a comedy, I never found it funny.
I liked the performers, especially Catherine Mary Stewart. I just wish the script had been as good as they were.

reply

I agree. It didn't suck, but I was underwhelmed by it too.

Every time I see this movie, I keep thinking I missed something. I saw just about every zombie, end of the world movie since The Omega Man was first seem on tv.
So I really like, or expect to like these films. This is the one film as you've stated that I agree with you on, just so nothing.
By the time you're halfway through, you're hoping for the end.

I was 11 when this came out, never got around to watching it back then, don't know why but it slipped through the cracks. I finally watched it today for my first time and I got to say I partially agree with you. I wouldn't say sucks but definitely not awesome or anything. It could've been so much more, the lack of people in it drove me crazy, it was very thin and really nothing to it. The logic by all involved was completely idiotic. The only thing I really liked about it was Catherine Mary Stewart, I sure wish I could spend some time with her in the movie theater projection booth for only $15. Lol

Agreed.

No wonder I don't trust Rotten Tomatoes ratings. It gives it something like 83% approval!
If I want to watch an '80s low budget horror or sci-fi movie I'd go with R.O.T.O.R. At least that one makes me laugh and had some point. This one is totally awkward, badly edited, no story and seems to be 3 times longer than it is.
