CHEESY movie, FANTASTIC music score

Anyone agree?

I agree 100%...and I was surprised AND ecstatic when I found that a commercial release of it not only existed, but was on Amazon for an extremely reasonable price! I had assumed that, if it had been released, it'd be a really rare item today.

..well, Perseverance records is releasing an EXTENDED CD sometime early this year, which is supposed to have around 15 minutes of unreleased music...hopefully the sound quality will be better than the Intrada release!

Wow, that's...even MORE unexpected!

Hahaha I know. Lots of Band's scores have been released/re-released as of late.

Band's score here is one of my top-10 favorites of all time.

reply

Couldn't agree more. Seriously, it's worthy of Goldsmith or any other A-list composer. Another undeserving horror film that features a magnificent score is "Children of the Corn 2" by Daniel Licht--it's just beautiful.

Love the movie and the score. I'd love to own the Richard Band soundtrack.

reply

It was Richard Band? I knew I recognized the music from somewhere, but couldn't put my finger on it. He's usually worked with his brother Charles, and Charles tends to reuse Richard's music often. This wasn't one of Charlie's films, though.

It's a great score (and the movie has been a favourite of mine since I saw it as a kid)
But does anyone else think that parts of it sound a lot like the score for FIRST BLOOD?

"If you're lying...I'll be back!"

reply

Definitely sounds like the First Blood score.......but deffo also Amityville 2

I don't agree that the movie was cheesy. I think it is a legitimately well made, criminally underrated film but I do agree that the musical score is very good.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.
