the ending

I liked this little film. It had guts. Anyone else let down by the pathetic ending though? Should have had a "all is not well" type 70's ending. I thought it was too clean the way it ended.

Accually I just rewatched it today and I thought I heard a radio announcement @ the end saying that more people have dropped dead from the virus. Also at the same time there were more power plants opening in the county.

So I think the movie was just showing the begining off the outbreak.

Must be a different version from mine. Neat.

Yeah, the version I just watched (on the Pure Terror 50 Pack) ends with a news radio segment about New Era opening up 10 more plants. Definitely a "just the beginning" type ending.

I was expecting a INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS type ending where maybe everyone but Josh dies and he escapes but everyone thinks he's crazy, and there's word of the virus spreading. I thought the police showing up to gun down the "zombies" was pretty cool.

I actually liked the ending to this film. I was happy to see the characters live because I liked them. They had already gone through enough already anyways. Josh lost his only brother who he genuinely loved and cared about, Holly lost her uncle and her students (I imagine most teachers become attached to their students and develop an emotional bond with them), and the Sheriff lost Myra who he appeared to care about, as well as having to deal with his guilt for the accidental shooting incident years before and also his alcoholism. The characters had already gone through Hell so to put them through even more would be cruel.

Come, fly the teeth of the wind. Share my wings.

This is sort of off topic, but I love your avatar. Salem's Lot is one of my favorite films of all time.

Yes, the general consensus on Mutant is that it's just another cheesy, low budget B-movie piece of trash. But it's a lot more than that to me. I think it's a very good, well made film with an interesting story, likable characters, and a good atmosphere. I can't see why so many people hate it.
