Casting

The first and best of the series. Saw it on the London stage in 1976. The series ruined for me in one small respect... John Castle, great actor, but why give him a different role in the another in the series? Really cheesed off about that. It is the refernece to characters in previous stories that gives it a greater sense of realism. The developing relationship between Marple and Slack etc.

I noticed that too. John Castle plays Inspector Haddock (I think) in another Marple mystery and he's one of her endless nephews, (as he reminds Inspector Slack) but in this episode he's not related to Miss Marple and is an entirely different Inspector all together. Bad move, that.

He is Inspector Craddock in both of them.
