The best Miss-Marple and the best series

The Joan Hickson series of Miss Marple are outstanding.
Rather like the earlier Poirot series of the 1980-1990's, the one hour productions are far more lean and efficient than any that have come since.
Joan Hickson really is Miss Marple unlike any before or after.
With Sherlock Holmes it is the Rathbone/Brett series which are the the ones to beat.
