The scene when he pops up out of the water and opens fire

I don't know anything about guns and my college professor thinks that no private citizen should be able to own one, but when Chuck pops up from the water, his gun was submerged in the lake but has no problem firing, when in reality, the gun should have been flooded out. I guess this was more Chuck Norris movie magic
