Rambo versus Braddock

Who would win in either a fistfight or a gunfight. John Rambo from the Rambo films or James Braddock from the Missing in Action films. It is appropriate that I am comparing them. Both men were special forces guys who went back to Vietnam to find their missing comrades. Both men would most likely know the same thing about Martial Arts, weapons, explosives, and tactics. I think Rambo would win because he is bigger and stronger. What do you think?

reply

You obviously do not watch to many UFC or Pride fights (the same for streetfights) because if you did you would know that being bigger and stronger does not guarantee victory.
I think it would be a good fight and I agree that Rambo would win.

I agree. I mean, but to the limits of weight division. Let's say HW. Someone with 140 kg, yes, he is bigger and stronger, but not a good fighter as someone with 93-110kg.
And since the best fighter in HW are Fedor, Cro Cop, Nogueira, Kharitionov... (all from 100-110 kg), history tell us that you are right and that in HW biggest fighter are the worse fighter and has worse record.

Fedor, Cro Cop, Nogueira, they dismantled bigger fighter with ease.

But the weight comes to advantage to the bigger one, if you will give in PRIDE, someone with 70-80 kg against some PRIDE HW, than the bigger fighter will win, because lighter figther is not more skilled.

If you give 70kg PRIDE figther against some 100 kg streetfigther, than of course
70kg PRIDE fighter will win extremely easily, but against 100kg PRIDE figther, than 70-80kg PRIDE fighter doesn't stand a chance.

The point is, if someone is equally skilled, than the weight will come to expression.

I think it would be a good fight and I agree that Rambo would win.

I also agree Rambo would win.

ill just paste my reply on the Rambo 2 board:

Braddock. Yes Rambo is much much more capable looking but that can lead to under estimating Braddock if ur looking at it only on that level.

This is why. Braddock was kept in foul conditions in a POW camp until well into the early eighties. He would have been in a low place physically and mentally. He broke out and still managed to take down the commanders of the camp. In part three he even managed, with the help of his son granted, to take down a killer copter after barely surviving a grenade.

I like Rambo but after seeing all three MIA movies, and i do accept they are Rambos for the B movie crowd .i must say i preferd MIA 2 out of all 6 of these movies.

TBH though i hate these kind of questions. These two would probably work together to bring everyone home. I guess im going to get flamed for this though.

I Like this answer. I lean towards this as well. They would realize they're better off as allies than foes and decide to join forces. Kind of a real life
Superfriends scenario. Or Expendables of the 80's if you will. ; )
Kind of reminicent of that flick "They Live" where Roddy Piper and Keith David
go at it and the fight practically never ends.

reply

John Matrix would annihalate both.

Angels Sang out an Immacculate Chorus: / Down from the Heavens Descended Chuck Norris / Who Delivered a Kick that could Shatter Bones / Into the Crotch of... RAMBO!!!

No way, not a tough decision at all - obviously Chuck Norris all the way. How could there possibly be any doubt? In real life or in a film Norris all the way. Seriously I'd love to see a real life fight between Norris and Stallone, Stallone is an action movie actor, Chuck Norris is a bona fide martial arts expert who even started his own martial arts combat league, trained with Bruce Lee and in his prime was said to have been the greatest martial artists on the planet. But he is a bad actor in all those action films he did so there ya go.

You've got the touch! You've got the power!

WELL ALL I KNOW IS RAMBO 2,WAS JUST A CARBON COPY OF THIS MOVIE.

BRADDOCK.RAMBO 2 WAS JUST A RIP OFF OF THESE MOVIES ANYWAY.

BRADDOCK all the way. Anyone who can climb out his window in Vietnam, crawl down the side of a building, evade/incapacitate guards of a high ranking Vietnamese Army General, kill him, get away, climb BACK up the building, get through the window to rip a hot chicks shirt off RIGHT as the General's entourage rolls in is THE MASTER.

reply

Rambo. He could beat the sh.t out of Bradock with his eyes poked out. Rambo all the way!

reply

it really depends on the rambo and bradock we are chosing...

Rambo from the first movie isn't "that big" when compared to bradock...actually they must be similar in bodies...(rambo is only "giant" in 3 and 4)

personally I think Rambo would win, because he's just a bit meaner than Bradock...more of a killing machine... but it would be really close

reply

Rambo is a stone cold *beep* killer and would rip braddock to peices! No question.

reply

Braddock would wup Rambo's steroid riddled behind, no question.

reply

DON'T FORGET HE KILLED A RAT WITH HIS TEETH!

WRONG. MIA is a rip-off of Rambo. James Cameron wrote a story treatment for Rambo: First Blood Part II in 1983, while writing The Terminator and Aliens simultaneously. Cannon Films heard about the storyline and filmed MIA 1 and 2 back-to-back so it's release would predate Rambo II (hence the low budgets of each film and the identical plots). It's one thing to rip off a blockbuster movie's formula, but to steal the premise of a film still in production in a vain attempt to cash in and be dubbed original is f-cking pathetic.

Well, don't dismiss the fact First Blood was a one-man army film dealing with Vietnam vets. It's not the conventional one-man army film, but it was the first nonetheless.

How was First Blood, a film based on the novel by David Morell and filmed in 1981, influenced by a later film from the same director that was released in Christmas 1983?

And Uncommon Valor came out before either, and was based on a true story.

Hand to hand? Braddock.

reply

Agreed. Braddock should get his own comeback movie.

And it will be called simply "BRADDOCK."
