Most disturbing scene

I personally would label Betty's entrance to Michael's apartment as that.
And also, the moment when Pete is ready to attack Betty and suddenly he is grabbed by these two monstrous black hands and begs for mercy.

Occasional glimpses of drug panic in Pete's face when he rambles on to Betty and her reactions were pretty disturbing, because they acted less like a movie psycho & victim and more like real people.

The scene where Pete's body is being disposed of. That grusome scene gave me chills!

That would be "Mike" -- as in "Mike's Murder." Did you see the film?

No, Mike's body is removed from his apartment by law enforcement. Betty looks over Mike's apartment after the body has been removed from the crime scene.

It is Pete's body that is dumped at the end. Remember, the killers took him from Betty's house?

I would say the scariest scene is when Pete, on the lam, is hanging out at the apartment of a guy he has just sold some coke to. The friend has left the apartment and Pete is still there, drinking a beer and contemplating his situation. A woman comes knocking on the smoked glass door, ostensibly a friend of the coke-buying-guy with innocent intentions. Pete, desperate, seems to consider answering the door and moves toward it. All of a sudden you see the shape of a man, who has heretofore not said anything so you don't know he's there press his face against the glass, as if listening for someone inside to reveal themself. Pete, terrified, exits out of a back door. There are many great terrifying moments in this movie, and this is just one of them. A vastly underrated film.

Yes! That is the scene that haunts me most of this film. It felt so "real" and horrifying. Pete was "doomed".
You are so right...vastly underrated film. A true Gem.

The whole scene with Pete was a nail biter. I read that the script is loosely based on a real case. The killers where linemen on the UCLA football team.

"Michael"?? Who in the hell is "Michael"??

Oh, I see, you mean "Mike"! As in, "Mike's Murder."

Sounds like you're new to the English language. Hang in there.
