Yes it is. Borderline unwatchable.
shareAgreed. Talk about a movie that trades in its title. Badly written and directed. REALLY poor effects. The floating grenade, for instance. And the alien costume that seemed like it could have been made of papier mache. The plot that is at once cliche and ridiculous. The sub-plot of the two counselors constantly trying to find a place to have sex...their sub-plot and characters never seem to have any appreciable interaction with the main plot. Then there's the hackneyed bit about John Larroquette's character being a closeted homosexual. That was a pretty tired old bit even in 1984! And the relationship between the Hamilton Camp and John Larroquette characters -- that was already cliche in the '60s with "McHale's Navy".
I wish this had been one of those movies that was so bad you have to see it. And actually, I fear that if it made the bottom 100, people might see it that way. But it's not that kind of movie. It's so bad you shouldn't see it.
