wheelchair kid - did i miss something??

ok, hadn't seen this movie in years & just watched again on comedy central.

the wheelchair kid - he stops the crazy military dude from blowing up the alien by struggling to his feet & falling into the guy - then he falls helplessly to the floor, ya know, cuz his legs don't work.

a couple scenes & 1 commercial break later & we see the same kid walking around the room!!

did i miss something? did comedy central cut something out? is this just the most botched editing job ever?

hmm, maybe the alien healed his legs during one of those R rated sex scenes that were ultimately cut...nah.

please help!!

Its been a while since I've seen this, but I don't think the wheelchair kid ever walks around...maybe it was some other kid.

I just finished this movie that I recorded from comedy central, and I noticed the exact same thing. The wheelchair kid's legs are healed in the last scene.Either that or its a huge plothole.haha. Not only does the kid get up and run to the window to say goodbye to meathead with the others--but before that when he's sitting on the bed he's moving his legs around a bit as he sits...and the way he's sitting would be impossible for someone in a wheelchair.

I'm watching right now on CC, and I will look for these scenes,...however I do want to point out, not everyone in a wheelchair is paralyzed. I have been using a wheelchair for years in situations where I would be walking for a distance, or having to stand for a time. I have a bad back that prevents me from standing or walking for and time or distance, and I use a cane when necessary.

So it wouldn't be impossible for him to walk, or move his legs.

I thought that possibly the boy's problem was psychosomatic. That he had been injured and had to use a wheelchair and was later physically cured but couldn't force himself to stand until his heroic action. And by the next scene he had practicing using his legs a little and was getting better at it.

And possibly having a motorized wheelchair and getting sympathy made him reluctant to try walking.

I thought the whole point was to have someone who resembled Rudy the Rabbit. And to have him save the day. Otherwise, this didn't look like a 'chair-friendly camp, with the rough terrain.
