As far as I knww, Nastassja Kinski never used body doubles. She was never prudish or ashamed of showing her body in any movie. And she never did that in a cheap way.

So if I was you, I wouldn't be so sure that your aunt was a stand-in.

Agreed, Miss Kinski has never requested the use of a body double as she has always been (very rightly) unashamed to reveal her beauty. I certainly see no reason why she would change, especially since this was filmed during her early to mid twenties at the height of her beauty (though IMO, she will always be beautiful at any age). I sincerely doubt the use of any body doubles since we do see topless scenes that include her face in frame. Also, this film does not contain any very explicit scenes, though Miss Kinski has never had a problen filming those either.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

I was an extra in this movie in 1983--it was filmed in my hometown (Brownsville, PA). Nastassia Kinski did in fact have a body double--not for any of the intimate scenes, but the double was used for scenes like when she was riding in the back of the motorcycle, etc. The body double's name was denise bock, who bore a striking resemblance to Kinski.

And also, she was far from what you would call friendly. She was aloof and stuck up.

She was staying at the Holiday Inn in Uniontown and she went to the Uniontown Mall with her dog. When she was asked to leave, she said, "Don't you know who I am?" The guard said, "I don't care who the hell you are, you cannot come in here with a dog."

yeh, body doubles aren't just for the nude scenes- they are typically used for all sorts of shots, especially action scenes where the real star might get hurt or not have the skills to pull it off (riding horses, swimming, etc.)

Also the term Stand-in would refer to standing there for lighting checks, focus measurements etc. before the scene would be filmed. In extreme cases they could read the actor's lines off camera say for the other actor's close up shots so they would have something to react to and the so called "star" wouldn't have to waste time and energy off camera.

Thank you Janoble, you're exactly right. Stand-in is the correct title. You've described their purpose perfectly.

reply

I do! hehe. Yes, I think there was a body double for the sex scenes, specially when we see bush. John Savage of course didn't want a body double.
