"In the very first scene in the film, whe see a package in the postoffice which is going to be sent to Västerås (a smaller town in Sweden). Later in the film the alcoholic Olsson tells his friends that he is going to a meeting that involves money. When his friends starts to ask questions, his only reply is "Västerås". How come?"
- I Think "Västerås" was a sort of codename Olsson used, so he wouldn't name any names. I don't think that "Västerås" had any relevance to the story at all, unless the postoffice-robber Hedberg mailed the money there from the office he was robbing, so as to not getting caught with any money. But that is not stated in the movie.
" also wonder how Olsson did find his murderer? According to the ABAB-guard, they could't help Olsson find the person he was looking for, they just carried him out on the street because he was getting noisy. (The evidence that Olsson was seeking the murderer kan also be read at the yellow ABAB-note that later is put into fire and destroyed). "
- There's a lot of thing that is not stated up front in the movie, things that you have to fill in yourself. The important thing is what actually happened, not how it ended up. Thus, unless stated in the book or in the script or in the film, any explanation becomes a speculation.
But a speculative explanation would be that Hedberg (or his boss Berg) found out that someone was looking for Hedberg, and went trough the files of the security guards mental notes. Olsson went to the police headquarter in Stockholm, (also home for the Security Police, Secret Service and Vice, among other branches) looking for Hedberg, as the Security Police/Secret Service is mostly undercover/secret/clandestine, the security guards at the gates to HQ had no knowledge of Hedbergs whereabouts.
Anyway, Hedberg found out that Olsson was after him, and therefor had to kill him. The only physical evidence of Hedberg being linked to Olsson was the security guards mental notes. Thus the notes had to be destroyed, and was, by Hedbergs boss, Berg. Anyway, the notes is only a sort of MacGuffin, they are only important to the story as evidence that had to be destroyed. What was stated in them is not important.
