English dubbed version

A long long long time ago, back in the 80's I saw an english dubbed version of this, and no, not that clash version. I can't seem to locate this version anywhere, but still have it on VHS, anyone knows what the origin of that version was? The voice actors did not sound american nor did they sound britsh, though they had some kind of light accent, almost as if it were people fluent in japanese, speaking perfect english.
