Did the actors do their own singing?

I was wondering if anyone knows if they did their own singing in this movie? My friend who thinks she knows everything INSISTS that they didn't, and that it was someone else, so I thought I'd ask here. Anyone know?

Thanks,

Jules

I'm pretty certain Greg Bradford did not do his own singing. The voice was just so much different than his own. Mary Beth Evans I'm not so sure about. I always thought it sounded like her, especially on the song Totally Gone. But she's been on the soaps now for 20 years and none of her characters have ever broken into song, so I'd say your friend is probably right.

Just because MBE has never sung on soaps doesn't mean anything... I too always thought it sounded like her when she sang, and the other band members really looked like they were playing. I have always wondered, I hope someone can find out, I have tried EVERYWHERE.

I've wondered as well - and agree that unlike Greg, that Mary Beth sounds like she was actually singing.

I'd like to know too! :)

MBE did not sing in this movie. I have been a fan of hers for many years and she does not sing. She sang a couple of times while she was on General Hospital but it wasn't very good.

that doesn't necessarily mean anything............she could have been playing that she sings bad or whatever.( although I never saw her on GH, only DOOL) I have thought the same thing for years that she could have done her own singing and I am glad I am not the only one who thought so...............

Well, don't take this the wrong way anyone, but the singing in this movie isn't very good either - but that made it more realistic, it's a high school band afterall. That was the thing that made me think that she could have actually done her own singing.

ya know, on the credits, the songs are listed as performed by Racer or The Firecats... like they're actual bands. so, maybe the songs weren't performed by someone else? I mean, maybe they were actual bands called Racer or The Firecats... just for the purpose of the movie... know what I mean? and Souvenir was a real band, and they were introduced in the movie as themselves.
I think I'm kinda making sense to myself... kinda...

I asked Greg Bradford this question and he said the version of For You that was used in the movie was by Joe Esposito although Greg did record his own version which he has uploaded to Youtube.
