Alice!

Alice Cooper rocks!!I know this film is slightly pants and rips of "The Hound of the Baskervilles" and Friday the 13th(The old guy"Your all doomed")but when you have seen it a hundred times with your little brother, and you get to know all the words to the cheesy songs it kind of grows on you.

Monster Dog rules. Just watched it again last night on my cheap VHS copy. Wish it was on DVD.

I haven't found it on DVD anywhere yet but the second I see it somewhere, it's MINE. All my friends make fun of me for loving this movie, but all my friends SUCK.

Does anyone else have the Alice Cooper CD box set that has all the songs from Monster Dog? It's awesome. "Identity Crisises" is one of my all-time favorite Alice Cooper songs.

Netflix has it for rent. I just got it and copied it with Ideal DVD Copy. It is released by Substance, the same company that released Meet The Feebles on DVD. It is also in full frame and the quality is that of a VHS tape.

I love that song! Musically it's kind of simple and more like the Stones if anything, but the vocals are very much Alice Cooper and are friggin' incredible!
Catchy as hell and miles better than anything on his comeback album, Constrictor.
It boggles the mind that this was written for a movie that he thought nobody would ever see.

I wish he never jumped on the hair/pop-metal bandwagon and kept going in the direction of those experimental albums from 1980-83, but it was the mid-80's and he had to stay current I suppose.

Is it true Alice Cooper's dialogue is all dubbed here? That seems to be the case with a lot of Italian-directed films.

reply

I have no idea why all his dialogue in this film was dubbed by someone else. Was he given orders not to do his own dubbing, or did he flat-out refuse to do so?

reply

I would think (and hope) it wasn't Alice's decision. A lot of Italian films have actors speaking in their native tongues, then their voice is dubbed into other languages, but he's speaking English here, right?

I was pleasantly surprised. Alice Cooper could have been a horror movie icon if he focused on it, instead of a rock star who occasionally acted in horror movies. He is a good actor!
