Serious effort at reboot of TLS?

So in the past week, I've seen articles like the one below:

If Jonathan Betuel is seriously considering a reboot of his classic Sci-Fi movie, I sincerely hope he doesn't let Seth Rogan have any part of the effort. I've read that Rogan is one of the people behind the scene, chomping at the bit for a reboot. I don't want him touching this project at all. His Green Hornet movie was a joke, as are most projects he's a part of lately. Rumor has it that he wants to play Centari. Please NO, Jonathan! Keep Seth Rogan out.

Seth Rogan stepping into Robert Preston’s shoes . . . ? That’s like PeeWee Herman trying to fill Johnny Wadd’s jock strap.

For I don't know what reason, Seth seems to have some weight in Hollywood and actually get projects made. I've no doubt this is happening.

Yeah, the push to do a reboot of this movie has been in the development stage for nearly 3 decades now. Since there's been no new details after the initial story, I'm betting it's stalled again.

Did you know Seth Rogan is one of the creators of Preacher? That show is so gory and bloody I would of never guessed a comedian like him would be in on that project..

I heard that he's a co-creator. Not surprised. He did do that bizarre grocery items movie.

Preacher is entertaining in ways, strange in others. It's more of an off the wall sort of show, Tarantino like in ways.

Please no, the TLS will be a non white female possibly gay or transgendered, she will have to overcome all sorts of discrimination to eventually save the planet from global warming or something.

It is 2020 and the SJW army is at it, so your description wouldn't surprise me one bit. Let's hope that NEVER happens!
