Hackman as Centauri in a remake?

Honestly, I know people hate remaking movies, but with graphics significantly better, this movie could be an EXCELLENT remake (They should expand the movie though. The pace of the original is too quick, maybe make it into two parts).

Either way, for pure speculation sake, wouldn't Gene Hackman be perfect to play Centauri?

I have to agree, Hackman would be a great choice. I'm usually pretty good at these "Cast/re-cast" a movie things, and I'd never thought of him.

How about Edward Norton for the role of Alex?

Yeah now that I think of of it,Gene Hackman WOULD make a great Centauri.Good choice!I know they picked the wrong Boss Hogg for the remake of Dukes Of Hazzard! It's shouldn't have been Burt Reynolds! It HAD to be Danny DeVito!Oh well.Too late I guess.

Hackman seems like the natural choice to me. I'm usually pretty good at this "fantasy casting" stuff and I can't think of anyone better. Well, I do like the idea of William H. Macy, but I think Hackman would be better.

If he did his best Lex Luthur impression from the first superman it would be great.

Hackman has retired.

Honestly, the ONLY reason I saw this film in the first place was to see Robert Preston. If there's to be a sequel, Centauri shouldn't be in it.
The same could be said for Dan O'Herlihy, though he was unrecognizable as Grig, there was no mistaking his voice.

Hackman would make a great Centauri. But for a sequel, no Centauri.

Bill Murray would make a great Centauri.

Since Centauri can change his face...I think Morgan Freeman would be a good choice.
