Starlight, Starbright!

Ever since I saw "The Last Starfighter" as a child, whenever I now see cheap sign lights for a hotel, trailerpark entrance, or otherwise, I automatically think of this movie!

In fact, once I was driving in Moscow, Idaho, and there is this cheap-o motel on the main strip called "Royal Motor Inn." It has the same cheap sign lights that the entrance to the "Starlight, Starbright" trailer park had in the movie. I made a comment to the others in the car, but nobody other than me has seen the movie. I was shocked. I then asked how many people saw "Goonies." Again, out of 3 others in the car, nobody has seen Goonies other than myself. There is truly no hope for humanity.

Haven't seen Goonies? You need new friends.

I turned 38 this past May and I've found that more and more of my pop culture references draw blank stares from my younger co-workers. In fact not too long ago I actually used "Always trust Centauri." which drew only a "Huh?" in return.
