Just finished a viewing........amazin g!!!

I just finished watching this again ad I must say, I absolutely loved it, even more so now that I noticed a few things I hadn't before.

The film was pretty short, for this kind of fare anyway. The main battle scene itself was over in a flash (although it ticked all the boxes) but I actually like that the film is like this. It makes the whole story seem like a cross section of a much, much bigger story (Similar to Spacehunter). The Villains weren't too well explained or developed but instead of being a down point I actually started to make up stories in my head and scenarios of sequels and even prequels.

It takes a very special kind of film to fire the imagination like that!

The CGI is another point. True it may not look to great compared to modern standards but I find it absolutely fascinating and a great piece of movie tech history as well as being a brave move for the makers at the time.

I would of course like to see an 'Alternate' version with updated CGI scenes, not to replace but to go alongside the old version as I do consider the original CGI segments very important from a progress point of view and should never be destroyed or replaced.
