fight between jackie chan and benny the jet urquidez

I just wanna say that the final fight between jackie and benny urquidez is awesome, the best.

reply

just got the r2 2 disc special edition and i'm sure the fight scene with benny was cut slightly as i'm sure they hit each other and get hurt at the same time but hide the fact their both in pain behind a wall pillar rubbing their chests

reply

no i think you mean another chan flick(i cant remember wich one tho)

That sounds like Project A, where Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao kept hurting themselves while fighting at one point in the bar-room brawl, and during that bit they hid from each other to cover up their pain.

reply

maybe dragons forever another film with the three of them in

One Question to the first "jetfight".
What music played in the backround? Looking for that.... Help me... please

reply

I agree that fight was awesome!!! very long too which I like

reply

That is a good music , you right !
What I can say...I too looking for that music , but all I can find is song that play when credits starts(the full version but without voice of singer)
By the way I search for music played when Jackie and Yuen come in night disco party - I really search for that one , please help !!!!!!!

Yeah, it's a great fight. Probably the best I've seen. I like that you can see everything that happens clearly, some of the moves are just great, and everything is happening fast. It also feels more 'real' then most action scenes, even if you can still see some of the connecting hits are fake.

I've come to really dislike the hollywood fast-clipped fight scenes where you can never tell what actually happened (Batman returns anyone?). This is just good old fashioned one on one fighting with two experts and a good choreographer :D

Oh? And did he really snuff out those candles with that sweing? That was awesome too ;D

Super fight!!!

reply

Yea sure that Benny the Jet dude is talented and all, but you gotta admit..... He is one ugly summumabich.... lol

reply

yea, hes got some crazy eyes.
but the fight is really the best.
and about the music, i hate the original version. ;)

reply

Can I just respectfully disagree, because as good as this was, the choreography in the finale with Ken Lo in DM2 was even better. I agree Benny the Jet is the *beep* and all but DM2 was just poetry in motion. I still would put these 2 behind the end fight between Colin Chou and Donnie Yen in Flashpoint though.

I believe that match between Benny "the Jet" Urquidez and Jackie Chan was and probably is still considered to be one of the finest fights of the movie genre. It's most defintely the best on screen fight sequence I had ever seen.

reply

its very overrated!!!
the fight didnt last long, and it was interrupted from jumping to the other scenes..

it had potential and was comical, but could have been more brutal!

bruce lee vs chuck norris----) jackie vs benny!!

Bullshyt MR han-man!!

reply

Didn't last long? Are we thinking of the same movie? The fight between Jackie and Benny the Jet in "Wheels on Meals" is a very long fight. You sure you aren't thinking of "Dragons Forever"?

I must say, of all the Jackie Chan films I've seen, the fight at the end of this film is where he is the most Bruce Lee-like.

Aren't you relieved to know you're not a golem?

reply

I agree. Chan and Urquidez were at the top of their careers here. Nothing Chan has done since compares. While there are more spectacular fights, this one is as close to the "real thing" as you'll get on film.
