About halfway through

Am I the only one that felt like this movie just stopped making sense about halfway through?

I was loving it until Nausicaa and Asbel left the forest... Then the movie turned into this haze of "who is fighting for what and why?" and a bunch of sudden plot turns that kept on coming and coming until the battle ended, the eco-message was delivered and everyone lived happily ever after.

It's not that it made no sense, exactly. It's more that it just lost focus and felt like it was all over the place.
