I haven't heard anything about it being re-released. I do see bootleg DVD copies on eBay for retail price (phooey).

I got the movie today on DVD for $1. It is not bootleg; it was released by Digiview Entertaiment. The sequel was at the store as well and I am gonna get it tomorrow! :-) For more information check: http://www.digiviewus.com/

There was an english version released years ago. My mother taped it off of the Disney Channel I think... They might have released the english dubbing under Buena Vista. Might want to give it a try.

Actually the whole Spanish version is on you-tube now. Split in 9 parts, it might still make you recall when you jumped in the theatre seats and cried as I did at the middle of the most scary scenes (scary for a 6 year old boy in the 80s of course)

I bought a copy of the English version on ebay and I was in heaven...for about 65 minutes. For some reason, the dvd just froze. I tried to play it in several different players, the seller even sent me another copy and it froze in the exact same place. Did anyone else have a similar problem with buying from ebay or am I the only one? I'd also like to know where I can buy a copy that will play the whole movie. I have loved it for years. I had it on VHS, but my sister lost the tape years ago.

this might sound really stupid but if both side of the disc are blank you may have to turn it over... probably not but... it's happened to me...
